The End of the road

It is the last week of class finally! Unfortunately because I was a 4 classes away from having a journalism degree about 6 years ago I did not really learn anything I did not already know. I also went to a high school that taught us how to write and the rules to writing so most of this was review. I still don't like APA style and it is not something I think I will ever memorize because once I am finished with my final degree (have not decided how far I will go yet) I am not writing another paper unless I have to. I would rather let my students write while I read.  However writing a scientific paper is fun. I got to write a paper on a topic I am interested in and I did learn a lot on that topic. I now am able to share some of that information with others.

Feeling about writing

How do I feel about writing now? I still don't like it. I am able to do it fairly easy without much effort I just don't like it. What I really don't like it is siteing all the sources and proper APA formate. However I love to reasearch new things. I don't ever have a specific thing I like to reserach a topic will come up I will find it interesting and I will start to research it. As long as I don't have to write about it I like to fill my brain with the knowledge. I believe I probably like speech class more than I like writing, and to think I use to be a journalism major. I know I hate writing how did that become my major. I basically choose it because I was able to write and it did not have a lot of math classes not because I enjoyed writting by any means. Also ironic is that English has always been my best subject and I don't like to read books either. After taking this class my feelings about writing have not changed I still don't like it and I still hate blogging.

It's almost over Yes!

Seeing that the title of my blog is "I hate blogging" I don't think I will be continuing this after the class is over. I really to not love writting. I don't suck at it I just don't like it. I also just don't have the time to do it. Between, work, school, exercising, and my daughters activities I just don't have the time to sit here and produce well thought out blogs intresting enough for some starnger to read. Blogging is not for everybody other people love it.  I don't love it so I won't be doing it. I prefer short blips on Facebook much more.

Hmmm how interesting.

Doing my research I have found out many interesting things I did not know. Finding these things out made my life make a lot more sense and made me understand my step sons issues a little more. I never knew that the ADHD was so different in females than in males. I also found out that hormones in females makes a difference as to what treatment works best. When somebody tells you a child has ADHD your first thought is a hyper mess. This is not always the case. Most of the times males are more physically active and the females are hypertalkative no so much bouncing off the walls. Sometimes males can also be hypertalkative but it also goes along with the hyper active motor skills. I really had a lot of ah ha moments about my life and those moments are helping me to realize why I do some of the things that I do.

6 weeks in the life of me

As my friends know my life is never dull. I am always busy and always on the go. This has been a very busy summer for me. My step brother got married and my daughter was in the wedding so we went to MN for that wedding for the weekend. My best friend who live in NC is also geting married so the weekend after my wedding in MN I drove to NC with some friends and had a bridal shower and a batchlorette party for my best friend. Next week I will be heading to Puerto Rico to be in my friends wedding. On a day to day basis I am always going going going. I take my daughter to camp M-F then head to work. I usually hit the gym at least 2 times a day once in the morning or noon time and again after work around 5:30. After work I pick my daughter up form school and head to the gym. After the gym on Monday and Wednesday I head home and attend seminars for school. If I am not attending seminars I am making dinner or going grocerie shopping or doing home work. I also have 4 dogs I take care of on a daily basis. I have 2 boxers, 1 chihuahua and a collie mix. I usually don't sit down and relax until about 10 or 11 oclock at night.

School and its influence

I have been in and out of school since I graduated from High school. The longest break I took was this last one of 6 years. I am now back in school with a motive and a purpose other than my parents are making me go. I have never loved school infact I loathed it. It has never been very easy for me. Now that I have a daughter and I am back in school and my life has done a 360 school has inflenced me a lot. I have now found something to major in that I actually find interesting and enjoy doing and it incorperates my dream to teach. I have improved my grades nearly 100%. There was a time where I needed to raise my GPA or I would be kicked out of the University. This time around I actually care. I am now very excited to finish my degree and use it at work and to explore other options in the field.

How to Write

I don't follow any writing rules in fact I do it all wrong but some how it turns out correct. Usually I just sit down and start writing. Once I have written everything I want to write I go back and organize it to make sense. Unfortunatly I write like I speak and that is not a good thing. Once I have organized everything I have somebody go through my paper and correct all the errors and tell me if something needs to be moved or does not make sense. I have also found that I can not spend days writing a paper. I have to gather all my information and once that is done I just sit down and write the paper. If I write half the paper and then stop I loose my flow of words and can't seam to get back on track. Sometimes to organize my thoughts I will make an outline and try and follow it when writing . I usually only refer to it if I get writers block.

Hey give that back!

plagiarism is serious to me it is also a form of laziness. Steeling somebody else's work without giving that person credit is just saying your not creative or intelligent enough to do your own work yet you still want to look intelligent and creative.  It is a form of cheating. The chances of somebody stealing my work is slim to none because I am not that great of a writer however if somebody did I would be very unhappy. I am a person of chances. This means I will give somebody a chance to correct their wrong doings before I do anything else. I will contact the person who plagiarized my work and give them a chance to give me credit for my work. If this incident took place in a school setting I would contact the professor to let them know that somebody plagiarized my work. If this were a professional setting I would contact the publisher. I don't want anybody to fail in life but I also do not feel it is fair if you take my work that I worked hard on and use it as your own.

An On-Line Education

On-Line schooling has been the best invention since sliced bread. If On-line schooling would have been around to this extent 15 years ago I would already have my masters and possibly a PH.D. I love on line schooling. Being a single mom who works full time this could not be more perfect for my schedule. I love that I don't have to go any place other than my home or my office, or any place with an internet connection to go to class. I can go on vacation and still be able to attend class. I also enjoy the open book and note quizzes and tests.  My biggest problem when going to a tradition University was quizzes and test because of my very high test anxiety. I will say this has decreased a good 70% now that I am able to have open book and open notes. The flexibility of the on-line program is great. I like that there is a second option if you are unable to make a seminar. I also like the way assignments are turned in. Kaplan does a pretty good job communicating with students and making sure that they are successful.

Well here I am blogging because I was told to do so. I am much better at talking than at writing but here goes nothing.
